Rebuilding History Launch

This month sees the culmination of our project: Rebuilding History.

The sixth month project, supported by the National Lottery through the heritage lottery fund, uncovered secret histories of the buildings of Blaenau Gwent.

The films uncovered a wealth of information, some of which had not been seen by the public before. This included a jail cell, recently found in the basement of one of Tredegar’s oldest pubs, and graves under a pulpit due to a church expanding over the centuries.

Project manager, Alan Terrell said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, the heritage of these local buildings are now preserved for future generations to discover”.

The short films, featuring buildings from around Blaenau Gwent are now online, and are free to view here: Rebuilding History
